THIEVES OIL

This wonderful blend of pure essential oils is from a centuries old recipe.  Studies have found that Thieves Oil has a 99.96% success rate at killing airborne bacteria.  The essential oils are antiseptic, antiviral, antibacterial and anti-infectious.  They have been found to stimulate the immune system, circulation and respiratory system and help protect against flu, colds, bronchitis, pneumonia, sore throats and more. Vegan 

Caution: The cinnamon bark, clove and eucalyptus oils in Thieves oil can feel very “hot” or irritating to babies and people with sensitive skin. We don’t recommend it in a childs’ bath tub.  Always test yourself or your child for sensitivity and dilute your Thieves Oil with your favourite carrier oil to the strength that suits your needs.   If the dilution feels too strong,  use a carrier oil to quickly remove it from your skin. 

If you’re pregnant or under a doctor’s care, check with your doctor before using Thieves Oil.  

Thieves Oil for Common Ailments

Diffusing – Diffusing Thieves Oil will purify the air, kill germs and eliminate odours. Use a few drops in oil burners or vaporisers.  At the first sign of colds and flu we’ve found it really useful to diffuse our Thieves Oil – especially overnight in the bedroom.

  Blend  for topical application – colds, flu and bronchitis:  Add 10ml of Thieves Oil to  to 50ml of a carrier oil like grapeseed, sweet almond, jojoba or olive.  Apply to the lower back, the upper back of thighs, and back of neck and behind the ears to help with symptoms.  Also apply to the bottoms of your feet, sternum, chest and throat.  On babies, massage just their feet. Test for sensitivity first.

Head and lung congestion – Place a few drops in a steaming bowl of hot water, cover your head with towel and inhale vapours.

Cuts, scrapes – Use your topical blend on wounds or scrapes to help prevent infection, reduce pain and inflammation and speed healing.

Bad breath  – Mix  a couple  of drops to 4 tbsp. of baking soda, place in a glass jar and shake well. Dip your toothbrush in the mixture and brush.

Thieves Oil Around the House 

 All-Purpose Spray – This  solution cleans and disinfects around the home, purifying the air and eliminating odours. Add 20 drops of thieves oil for each 500ml of water in a spray bottle.  Shake vigorously before each use. Try your spray in the air or on countertops, sinks,  doorknobs, toys, the computer keyboard, phones and other places that need disinfecting.

Dishwasher and Laundry – For a natural dishwasher cleanse – empty the dishwasher,  fill two coffee mugs with white vinegar and add  4-5 drops of Thieves Oil.  Put one mug on the top rack, one on the bottom and run it on hot.  In the laundry try a few drops in the rinse cycle.

Floors – add a 10-15 drops to ½ bucket of cleaning water.

Pests – To repel aphids, ants or bedbugs, spray plants, surfaces, floors, and mattresses with a mixture of 20 drops  to every litre of water.
